Grade Monitoring: 8th Grade Celebration

February 13, 2018

Dear Washington Families,

The end of the 1st semester affords us an opportunity to evaluate your student’s academic progress and his or her potential participation in the end of the year 8th Grade Celebration. The 8th Grade Celebration will take place June 7 at 5:30 pm. For safety and security purposes, families will receive three tickets for the 8th Grade Celebration.  For your student to participate in the 8th grade Celebration Ceremony, your student may not have more than one failing mark (F) in core subjects (math, language arts/reading, science, AVID, or social studies.)

There is still time to turn this around and to earn the passing marks necessary to participate in the celebration.  Please consider the following: -Discuss this with your student:  What is causing the grade? (lack of homework completion, test scores, absences, other) -Contact the teacher to see what needs to be done to earn a passing grade. -Remind your students there are Study Tables they can use for help after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays: 2:45 - 3:30 pm.

Please contact the Washington Middle School Administrative Team with questions.
