Washington Middle School for the Arts
The primary focus of the Washington Middle School for the Arts is to provide students with an integrated fine arts education in 6th grade, and opportunities to explore pathways in the fine arts in grades 7 and 8. The intent of the Washington Middle School of the Arts is to provide students the next step in a pathway to actively participate in a fine arts focused program, expanding opportunities initiated in elementary school and continuing through middle and high school.
The Washington Middle School of the Arts will follow the rigorous GBAPS curriculum and will continue to weave the fine arts focus throughout core curriculum areas, infusing special value-added events and partnerships in the Fine Arts house. Business, industry, postsecondary institutions and community-based organizations will work collaboratively with the Fine Arts Institute at Washington Middle School.
